The Bristol Improv Theatre (UK) is staging a fantastic line up of visiting and local LGBTQ improv talent in a special Pride fundraiser on Saturday 6thJuly.
Headlining the night are visiting London act The Dragprov Revue, a drag double act performed by Francesca Forristal and Ed Scrivens. Using audience suggestions, the lovable soft-boy and sassy queen create dazzling songs, sketches, and raps. Described as RuPaul’s glamour meets “Whose Line Is It Anyway” style improv comedy the night promises to be more than just a great night out.
“On one level, it’s just going to be heaps of fun. I’ve seen the Dragprov Revue a couple of times and they always absolutely bring the house down, so it’s going to be a joy to finally host them here in Bristol. On another level, it’s about celebrating the diversity of this community, because a significant proportion of Bristol’s improvising community are LGBT+.” said Caitlin Campbell, Artistic Director of The Bristol Improv Theatre
Caitlin doesn’t believe such a significant proportion of Bristol’s improv community being LGBT+ is a coincidence: “The core of improvisation is acceptance, support and inclusivity. When that’s practised, people have the freedom and confidence to be themselves, on stage and off, and that is a delight to watch and a delight to participate in”
The 115 seat theatre in Bristol hosts a variety of shows and courses. For more details and to book for the Pride fundraiser, go to their website at https://improvtheatre.co.uk
