Second City hit show #DateMe to open Off-Broadway

Part improv, part sketch #DateMe: An OKCupid Experiment is an immersive show that started as a social experiment and ended up as a hit stage comedy and its New York run opened last night (20th June).

Show creator Robyn Lynne Norris and her friend Bob Ladewig took an experiment in which Robyn had created 38 “undateable” profiles on the popular dating site OkCupid and turned it into a show. Those 38 online characters now live their lives on stage along with interactive multimedia, original music, and improv. The co-founder of OkCupid has even been to see the show. Rather than sue, he (thankfully) saw the funny side.

Robyn makes one firm conclusion; there’s no algorithm for love

Having run initially at Second City, LA and Chicago, this fast paced show is full of laughs and is running at the Westside Theatre Off-Broadway .

Tickets are available from the Westside Theatre box office and audience members are invited to download the show app and participate in the experiment.
